History of Haputale Divisional Secretariat
The history of Haputale Divisional Secretariat goes back to 1978, once it was simply commenced its activities with four staffs, under the supervision of Mr. A.B.E.S.Silva. Years elapsed with the hope of extending its scope to meet 2/3 needs of all people in Diyathalawa and Haputale suburbs, came true in 1992 with the receipt of a new building complex. Consequently, it was gradually increased its carder according to meet the needs of people and extended the scope of the land by increasing the number of Grama Niladhari Divisions. Now there are over 100 staffs in the office and the Divisional Secretariat area is consisted of 26 Grama Niladhari Divisions. Mrs.M.D.Gayani K.Ranathunga - The Divisional Secretary and Mrs. W.G.M.Priyadarshani-The Assistant Divisional Secretary are the momentums of present operation.
